Anaheim and across Orange County

Finding a care home in Anaheim, when nobody prepared you for this

We are a local placement service. We know the 97 homes the state licenses in Anaheim, we have been inside them, and we will walk you through the handful that could actually work for your family. It costs you nothing.

Tell us who you are looking after

Four short questions. Nothing you answer is shared with a facility until you say so.

Anaheim's licensed care, drawn to scale

Most of it is a house with six people in it

Every square below is one licensed home in Anaheim, sized by the number of beds the state licenses it for. The dozen large squares are the communities you have already found online. The 83 small ones are board and care homes, and almost none of them have a website, a brochure or a listing anywhere.

That gap is the entire problem with searching for this yourself. The part of the market that is easiest to find is the part that suits the fewest families.

What we actually do

Four phone calls and a morning of driving

There is no app and no algorithm. This is a person who knows the buildings doing the legwork you do not have time for.

  1. 1

    We listen properly, once

Twenty minutes on the phone about what she needs, what she is like, and what the family can manage. Medical needs decide more than budget does, and the wrong answer here is what causes a family to move somebody twice.

  2. 2

We give you a short list, and say why

Usually four or five homes, out of ninety-seven. We will tell you plainly which we would not put our own mother in and why, which is the part a directory site cannot do.

  3. 3

We go and look with you

We meet you there. We ask the questions families do not know to ask — staffing overnight, what happens when she declines, how a rate increase works, what the eviction terms say.

  4. 4

We stay on it until she is settled

Move-in paperwork, the admission agreement, the first fortnight when something always needs sorting out. We do not disappear once the referral is made.

The part other sites leave out

How we get paid, in one paragraph

The family pays us nothing. When somebody moves into a home we introduced them to, that home pays us a referral fee. That is the same way almost every placement service in California works, including the national ones.

The honest consequence is that we are paid by the industry we are advising you about, and you should know that before you trust a word we say. What you should ask any advisor, including us, is whether they will tell you about a home that does not pay them. We will, and we will say so when it happens.
